Product Manager

Acceptance Auto Insurance is a retailer, servicer and underwriter of non-standard personal automobile insurance based in Nashville, Tennessee. We currently write non-standard personal automobile insurance in 12 states and are licensed as an insurer in 13 additional states. Our Corporate Headquarters are located in Nashville, TN with Claims Offices located in Nashville, TN, Chicago, IL and Tampa, FL. As of January 1, 2014, we leased and operated over 350 retail locations, staffed by employee-agents. Our employee-agents exclusively sell insurance products either underwritten or serviced by us.

As a Product Manager, your role will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies (pricing, policy attributes, and customer retention) related to our existing insurance business (automobile, renters and life) and planning, development and introduction of new, customer-relevant products (insurance and other complimentary products) in order to enhance the customers experience and grow our business profitably.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage profit and loss for assigned states
  • Establish relationships with state regulators
  • Evaluate and implement price level adjustments by state to maintain profitability
    • Manage state rate filings
    • Work cross-functionally to implement
  • Work with actuarial to improve risk rating through enhancements to the rating algorithm (factors, interactions, relativities)
  • Work with underwriting and claims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our underwriting process
  • Analyze competition and identify market opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally to implement new products
  • Effectively analyze performance metrics and direct organization accordingly
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related emphasis or equivalent; post graduate degree such as an MBA preferred 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Product Manager in standard, non-standard (or both) environments
  • Experience with auto (personal or commercial) insurance product management required
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and likes to work with data; has the ability to look at different data elements and formulate a business case
  • Superior business acumen
  • Familiarity with multivariate modeling
  • Familiarity with standard industry software tools
  • Familiarity with DOI filings and compliance
  • Excellent teamwork skills
